Today is Day 105

It has been a while since I gave a Mom update... sorry Mom's friends who come to my blog only to read about her. The above pic is one I took of Mom today. Overall she is doing well. She caught a NASTY cold a month ago and still is not well from it. It should be noted I caught it too and was down for 3 days; this shows how compromised her immune system really is.
Mom had her remission tests (100 day tests) last week. We get the results on Friday the 13th (insert creepy laugh here.) These tests included a bone marrow biospy, a full body x-ray, and lots of blood work. The tests were delayed a week because of her illness. She was not able to take the pulminary test because she still has a cough. They wait 100 days to do the tests because they feel that 100 days is enough to know if the transplant worked or not.
So Friday is Remission Day. If she is in remission the whole family is going to dinner at the Olive Garden because mom misses the salad!! If she is not in remission the whole family is going to Wendy's. It was going to be McDonalds but really if she is not in remission there is no reason to punish all of us. (Don't tell her but we will go to Olive Garden no matter what, we are just giving her a hard time. Mom has really had to be careful when it comes to salad so I think since October she has maybe had salad three times.)
Mom's hair started growing back last month and she now has a nice head of mostly grey hair. Sorry Mom, just calling it as it is! But it is SO soft!! She also stands mostly upright again in all of her 5'3" glory. Mom has always been taller than I have been but has lost 5 inches or so since her bones started breaking due to the cancer; I can't tell if it is asensitive subject or not. I called her shorty yesterday and she might have been offended. Her doctors released her to start cleaning house again and can I tell you that the next morning we woke up to her vacuuming, bless her.
That is the update. Pray for good results Friday!!

"A Smooth Sea Never Made a Skillful Sailor". Your Mom is such a beautiful woman, and I hope for all the best.
